(An article from wife and co-worker of many years, Christa).
This morning I washed my body with shampoo, and after getting out of the shower realized I only shaved one leg. More stuff I can blame on COVID 19. These days I am having to use extra brain power just to do simple things. Because my routines have been disrupted, I can no longer depend on common tasks coming automatically. Keeping my focus on basic truths is critical at this time. “Simplicity” is my word for the hour. Familiar scriptures resonate in my spirit.
“Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” (2 Pet. 2:17)
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks…” (1 Thes. 5:16-18)
“He has told you, oh man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)
Guilt-free simplification of life helps more than just getting both legs shaved… It reduces stress, helps me prioritize my time, and keeps my mind quiet so that I can hear the voice of the Lord.
